Благословенная Оптина is a free Android application developed by Благословенный Афон. The app is a continuation of the SMS newsletter "Optina" that was organized by the pilgrim center "Blessing Athos" in collaboration with the Optina Monastery inThe app features quotes from 14 Optina elders, with a database of 3000 quotes and a new quote added every morning. The app allows users to add favorite quotes to their favorites list, set the time for receiving a message, share quotes with friends via SMS, Viber, Telegram, WhatsApp, and other platforms, and select alert tunes from a selection of Optina hymns and audio recordings. Additionally, the app provides a search function for quotes by topic and a feature for the visually impaired.
All quotes from the elders, their brief lives, and pictures are sourced from the official website of the Optina Monastery. The app is created under the blessing of Abbot of the Monastery of Optina, Archimandrite Benedict. The developer of the app is the Pilgrimage Center "Blessed Athos" that offers individual and group travel to Mount Athos.
